Chris Henderson, Tom Moore, Ed Cole, and Dan Barton founded Semitracks in 2001. Their vision: to bring affordable education to the semiconductor industry based on expert knowledge and people working in the industry who understood the problems semiconductor scientists, engineers, and technicians face every day. In 2005, Semitracks launched its online training initiative, bringing cost-effective training right to the engineer's desktop. Whether it's face-to-face training, webinars, manuals, online training, or one-on-one consultation, we're here to help you understand the semiconductor industry and your role in it.
Semitracks offers three basic avenues for education and training: public short courses, in-house short courses, and online training. Our public courses range from one to four days. Our in-house courses can be customized to a certain extent for your company/organization. We also construct custom online training systems, and have done so for a number of companies, including: CSR, ON Semiconductor, Samsung, LTX-Credence, DCG Systems and others. We cover a wide variety of semiconductor-related topics, including: design, technology, processing, packaging, reliability, test, failure analysis, ESD, MEMS, optoelectronics, focused ion beam technology, and others.
Semitracks is committed to a philosophy of contracting with subject matter experts to provide our training. All of our instructors have advanced degrees in their respective fields, and actively work in those fields as well. We also require our speakers be experienced speakers. All of our speakers have presented numerous papers and tutorials, so they are familiar with public speaking. They have also written numerous papers and other technical documents, so they are familiar with creating well-written material. In this way, they can competently convey their knowledge to the student.
Semitracks is also committed to the principle of cross-training. Understanding other disciplines within the field makes for a more valuable employee. A knowledgeable employee makes for a more competitive company. We encourage people to take courses in topics outside of their current job assignment. Individuals and organizations who sign up for our online training have access to the entire website, so they can learn about a wide variety of subjects, not just subjects directly associated with their current jobs.
